Read for a Lifetime
SIGN UP NOW! The Secretary of State's Read for a Lifetime is the first statewide reading program to target high school students. The primary goal of the program is to promote the enjoyment of reading by encouraging students to read both classic and contemporary literature. It is our hope that by participating in Read for a Lifetime, students will develop a love of books and reading that will last a lifetime.
Students participating in Read for a Lifetime must read at least four books from the designated titles list before April 1st. Upon completion of the program, the Read for a Lifetime coordinator will send a list of the participants to the Illinois State Library. Students completing the program requirements will receive a Certificate of Accomplishment from Secretary of State and State Librarian Jesse White and a discount coupon from program co-sponsor, Waldenbooks.
