"Critics are by no means the end of the law. Do not think all is over with you because you articles are rejected. It may be that the editor has his drawer full, or that he does not know enough to appreciate you, or you have not gained a reputation, or he is not in a mood to be pleased. A critic's judgment is like that of any intelligent person. If he has experience, he is capable of judging whether a book will sell. That is all."

—Lavina Goodell Junior editor, Harper's Bazaar

We do not impose many restrictions on the use of your card, but there are a couple!

 Restrictions on your end:

  •  Berwyn allows its residents up to forty (40) holds in their hold queue at one time.

Restrictions on our end:

  • The Berwyn Public Library DOES NOT Inter-Library Loan FICTION DVD/VHS.

The catalog will allow you to place the hold; however, we cannot receive it.

  • We DO receive NON-FICTION DVD/VHS - which includes "Season X" of your favorite TV show!

If you're not sure if your DVD is fiction or non-fiction, give the Audio-Visual Department a phone call - (708) 795-8000 x 3085.  Our staff will gladly place the hold for you over the phone.

Looking for a place to warm up?

The Berwyn Library is one of five designated warming centers within the City.

And we have so many events going on, and quiet places to read, or computers to use, it's a good place for anyone, one person or even the whole family, to spend a couple of hours out of the cold.
