Support Services for Family Literacy Programs

According to the Verizon Foundation, comprehensive family literacy services include the following components:

  • Children's Education

  • Parent Time

  • Parents and Children Together (PACT) Time

  • Adult Education

The Library provides support services to organizations offering family literacy services, including:

  • early childhood literacy pamphlets
  • preschool storytimes
  • parent literacy workshops
  • adult literacy class visits and information

If you represent a Berwyn family literacy provider and would like to partner with the Library to provide these services at your location, please call Josephine Tucci at (708) 795-8000, ext. 3020.

 

Family Game Night

Fun for the whole family!!!!  Join us every Wednesday evening from 7-8:30 pm in the Community Room and play a variety of board games the whole family will enjoy.  Win prizes and and eat some tasty snacks!  This program is for families with school-age children and runs from June 8 - August 10.  No registration necessary.

And we have so many events going on, and quiet places to read, or computers to use, it's a good place for anyone, one person or even the whole family, to spend a couple of hours avoiding the cold of winter or the heat of summer.
